In the lecture, Master Thich Truc Thai Minh explained: “Righteous thoughts are mindfulness of the Buddha’s Dharma, mindfulness of precepts, mindfulness of giving, recollection of Heaven, recollection of Buddha, mindfulness of the Dharma, mindfulness of the Sangha, and mindfulness of the four foundations of mindfulness. . Starting to walk to the temple gate is to remember: “Ah, going to the temple is to be dignified, to be righteous, to be alert, to be careful, every action, every word, every deed”. Going to the temple to have a pure, dignified body and mind is meritorious. So righteous thoughts are a very important ingredient in the practice. Without righteous thoughts cannot practice. In the Noble Eightfold Path, righteous thoughts are the thread that connects all others. If we don’t have righteous thoughts, we are wrong, and if we are scattered, we cannot practice. Ordinary people with wrong thoughts cannot enter the Way. So the general public remember to practice righteous thoughts. Master also taught that if the whole temple could practice righteous thoughts, that temple would be very dignified. Everyone is righteous and aware, so there is no anger or quarrel with each other. It’s cold like this, I stay at home to ensure my health so that I can practice for a long time.” That concept is evil. But I listen to the Buddha’s teaching that diligence, difficulties and hardships must be overcome. According to the Buddha’s teachings, this is the Buddha’s land that always recites evil thoughts. This Buddha is the Buddha in us, always thinking of evil. Still waiting for the Buddha in the West to come, sometimes far away; or waiting for the Buddha in the temple to come back to us is far away, but the Buddha is right in this mind. Therefore, it is often taught in the sutras: Good knowledge from afar cannot be saved, but good knowledge must be in your own mind. How to arouse good knowledge in your mind, you must study the Buddha’s Law to save.”
